LEARN HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR OWN FONTS INTO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
We've all been there. Searching endlessly through Cricut Design Space and couldn't find that perfect font? Maybe you have seen projects by other crafters and wondered how they got that AWESOME text? Have you thought there has to be a way to upload your own fonts into Design Space?
Well, in this tutorial I am going to show you how quick and easy it is to do just that! Keep reading for my step by step instructions for Mac, PC, and mobile devices!

Now, sure. Cricut is a very intuitive software with fantastic projects, images, and fonts. That is even more true if you have a Cricut Access Subscription. I personally have the Premium plan and I have never been disappointed!
However, sometimes when I am designed a project for my family, this blog, or even myself, the selection available just don't speak to me for that particular design. This is when uploading a font can really be something you should be comfortable doing.
Before we begin, let me say there are a lot of font sites on the web. A lot. I like to use DaFont.com. They offer a large variety of fonts and a ton of them are FREE! That being said, they more often than not are for personal use only. Which means, if you are planning on selling a design you create using the font, you will need to obtain some form of commercial license. Selling on a personal license alone is prohibited.
Now that you know where I am going to be getting my font from, lets get started.
OPTION ONE – INSTALLING FONTS INTO DESIGN SPACE ON A MAC
STEP 1 – FIND THE FONT OF YOUR CHOICE
As I said above, I am using DaFont.com. So, enter the web address into your browser, or click the hyperlink in this tutorial.
Once you are on the homepage, you can either browse their catalog of fonts or, if you happen to know the name of a font, you can search for it in the search bar.
STEP 2 – DOWNLOAD THE FONT
After you have found the perfect font for your project, click the DOWNLOAD button.
SAVE the file to your computer.
STEP 3 – UNZIP THE DOWNLOADED FILE
Now that you have downloaded your font, UNZIP the file.
Open the UNZIPPED file folder.
STEP 4 – ADD THE FONT TO FONT BOOK
Choose the font style you would like and RIGHT CLICK with your mouse. Select OPEN WITH and choose FONT BOOK.
A preview of the text will pop up.
Click INSTALL FONT.
You will now see your new font has been downloaded into your computer.
OPTION TWO – INSTALLING A FONT INTO DESIGN SPACE ON A PC
Full disclosure – I am not a PC user. I haven't been in years. That is not to be an Apple snob, just the truth. That being said, I can walk you through the steps necessary – without pictures.
STEP 1 – FIND THE FONT OF YOUR CHOICE
Search for the font you are looking for.
STEP 2 – DOWNLOAD THE FONT
Download the font to your computer by selecting the DOWNLOAD button.
STEP 3 – UNZIP THE DOWNLOADED FILE
Click on the .zip folder. This will open a window that shows you the contents of your download. However, you will still need to unzip them.
Select all fonts in the .zip folder and click EXTRACT ALL. This will be at the top. You will then have to select a destination folder (i.e. the desktop).
Click EXTRACT.
STEP 4 – ADD THE FONT TO YOUR PC
Select your now unzipped fonts and right click. Select INSTALL to add them to your PC.
OPTION THREE – INSTALLING A FONT INTO DESIGN SPACE FROM AN iOS DEVICE
STEP 1 – FIND THE FONT OF YOUR CHOICE
Just like in option one and two, you can browse or search for the font you would like for your project.
STEP 2 – DOWNLOAD THE FONT
Once you have found the font you would like to use, tap the DOWNLOAD button.
You will see a downward arrow inside a circle next to the search bar. That is a notification that you have successfully downloaded a file. Tap that arrow icon.
Under the DOWNLOADS heading, you will see your downloaded file. Tap the file name.
This will bring you to your FILES app of your iPhone.
STEP 3 – UNZIP THE DOWNLOADED FILE
Tap the .zip file to unzip the contents of the download.
STEP 4 – ADD THE FONT TO YOUR iOS DEVICE
Now, in order to upload fonts you will need an app from the App Store. There are, again, many options to choose from. The one I choose to use is iFont. It is easy to use, intuitive, and fast.
Once you have the free app downloaded, tap the icon to open it.
Tap the IMPORT button in the upper right hand corner of the app.
Find the UNZIPPED file folder you downloaded in step 2 and select which font style you want to import. You will be brought back to the iFont interface. Scroll until you find the name of the font you selected.
Tap the INSTALL button.
You will see a pop up asking permission to download a configuration profile. Tap ALLOW.
Next, you will see a pop up letting you know the profile (font) has been downloaded. Tap CLOSE.
Now, open your SETTINGS app on your iPhone. Tap where it says Profile Downloaded.
Lastly, tap the INSTALL button. You will, then, need to type in your phone's passcode. Your font will now show up in your iPhone's database.
HOW TO USE YOUR NEW FONTS IN CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
Whichever option you choose to upload your new fonts, the process for finding them in Design Space is the same.
Open a NEW PROJECT. Select the TEXT option.
TYPE your message.
Go up to the FONT drop down menu.
I always select ALL to the left of the search fonts bar. This will show you all the fonts you have available through Cricut, Cricut Access, and your computer or device. Selecting SYSTEM will show you all the fonts you have available on your computer or device.
Find the font you downloaded and select it.
You have just uploaded a new font into Cricut Design Space. Easy enough, right?
I hope this tutorial was helpful! This may seem like a lot of steps at first but once you have done it once or twice, I am confident you will be an uploading king or queen!

I am just getting started with the cricut and the heat press for sublimations. Do you have any information on heat settings for different items like tshirts, ceramics, etc.
The Cricut Heat Guide is what I use for all my questions on blanks. You can find it at https://cricut.com/en_us/heatguide
Thank you so very much. This was very helpful for
