Upload SVG Files Using the Cricut App
HOW TO UPLOAD SVG FILES USING THE CRICUT APP
We do almost everything on our phones, right? They are pretty much an extension of our arms. I love that Cricut realizes this and makes their Cricut Design Space software available on mobile devices. If you are used to using the desktop version, uploading svg files into the app is a little different. Why? Well, a phone comes pretty close to a computer but not quite.
In this tutorial, I will show you how to easily upload SVG files into the Cricut app for iOS devices to use on your projects! If you like using a computer, much easier to read for sure, you can check out my tutorial for desktop.
Note: In this demonstration, I will be uploading my Home of the Free Printable Artwork. You can get this file for FREE by filing out the form at the bottom of this post. You can find directions on how to make this very patriotic Home of the Free Artwork here.
UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1 – DOWNLOAD THE SVG CUT FILE
Download the SVG Cut file from my Resource Library or another website. You can get the password by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.
STEP 2 – UNZIP THE FILE FOLDER
Click the “down arrow” at the top right corner of your screen.
Select the file that you just downloaded from the website.
This will open the file into you Files application.
Click on the ZIP file folder to UNZIP the file. You will notice a blue folder appear next to the zipped file.
STEP 3 – OPEN DOWNLOADED FILE CONTENTS
I always recommend opening the file before you upload into Cricut Design Space. There is quite a bit of useful information inside. Usually, the creator will include an About page of some sort explaining the file itself as well as any important licensing and usage information!
STEP 4 – OPEN THE CRICUT DESIGN SPACE APP
Once the app has opened, select New Project. You will see something like this.
STEP 5- UPLOAD THE SVG FILE INTO DESIGN SPACE
Tap the UPLOAD button on the bottom of the screen.
Select BROWSE FILES.
Locate your saved file and open the UNZIPPED folder. For Cricut Design Space, you will want to use the SVG file. Select the image.
STEP 6 – EDIT THE SVG FILE NAME
Here, you will see a preview of the image as well as be able to change the name before saving. Tap the SAVE button.
Now you are able to see your recently uploaded images for Cricut Design Space.
STEP 7 – INSERT SVG FILE INTO YOUR PROJECT
Select the image you want to use by tapping on it. This will highlight it in GREEN. Then hit INSERT.
STEP 8 – INCORPORATE SVG FILE INTO YOUR DESIGN
Your image is uploaded into your new project. You are ready to start customizing it or send it to your Cricut Machine for cutting!

Thanks for the info! Is there a way to download a SVG zip file straight into Google Drive? So far, I have to download them into files then move them to Google Drive, trying t see if there is a shorter way
Yes when you use an iPhone or iPad when it asks you where you want to save it you choose your Google drive instead of Files.
