Instructions
STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD THE SVG CUT FILE
Download the SVG Cut file for the Bunny Butt Tuxedo Card (#119) from The File Vault. Get access by joining the club.
STEP 2 - UPLOAD THE SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
If you aren't familiar with uploading SVG files into Design Space, take a look at my quick and easy tutorial here. Using your smartphone? Click here for my step-by-step guide on uploading SVG files with the Cricut App.
STEP 3 - UNGROUP CARD LAYERS
The file will upload into Cricut Design Space grouped together. You will want to hit the UNGROUP button to separate the layers.
STEP 4 - CONVERT FOLD LINES TO SCORE LINES
Scroll down the list in the LAYERS panel and find the envelope. Click the fold line and change the fold lines to score lines by changing the OPERATION from BASIC CUT to SCORE.
Attach the score line and the envelope by highlighting the GROUP the envelope is under and selecting the ATTACH option in lower right hand corner.
Repeat this step for the card base.
Then, the two inside pieces.
Now, find the sentiment group. Select the text and change the line by changing the OPERATION from BASIC CUT to PEN. You can then change the color of the pen as you wish.
Attach the text and the card layer by highlighting the GROUP the card layer is under and selecting the ATTACH option in lower right hand corner.
Click the GREEN Make It Button.
STEP 5 - MAKE YOUR MATERIAL SELECTIONS AND PREPARE YOUR MATS
You will see the mats for this card in the mat preview.
Click the CONTINUE button.
For this tutorial, I am using Medium Cardstock. Select your materials accordingly.
Attach your cardstock to the Cricut StandardGrip Mat using the Cricut Brayer.
STEP 6 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING YOUR MATERIALS
To load the mat into the machine, press the double arrows button. Do make sure that the mat is positioned under the mat guides.
You will know the machine is ready to cut your material when you see the flashing "C" button. Press that to start the cut.
Follow Design Space prompts to change out the scoring wheel, pen, and fine point cutting blade.
Once the cut is complete, make sure to peel the mat away from the cardstock rather than the cardstock from the mat. This will prevent any curling of your design.
Repeat Step 6 for until all layers have been cut.
STEP 7 - ASSEMBLE YOUR CARD
Now that everything is cut, we can start to assemble the card.
Begin by folding the card base along the main score line.
Fold the rest of the score lines referring to the diagram below.
Now, attach the cover panels to the inside, outside, and back of the card.
Attach the two large grass pieces to the inside of the card making sure the top of the grass does not go past the point at the top of the card.
The bottom of the grass should line up with the edge of the lapel on the card base.
Now, layer the embellishments.
I am using foam squares to attach the bunny tail and feet to the body. You can also just glue the pieces to the body if you wish.
Attach the remaining grass piece to the smaller inside piece.
Fold the inside pieces along the score lines and burnish. The tabs should face away from you.
Place the smaller inside piece on top of the larger one and add glue to all four tabs making sure not to glue them together.
Place onto the card base using the triangle on the smaller inside piece to line up the center score line.
Fold the left flap over and press to adhere the tabs to that side.
Add glue to the tab and then bring the right flap over. Press to adhere the tabs together and close the card.
Wait for the glue to dry. When you open the card, you will see the inside pieces have a bend in them.
Attach the embellsihments. Add the bunny butt to the point on the smaller inside piece.
Attach the sentiment sign to the back of the larger inside piece.
Add the butterfly to the card.
Place the carrots where you wish. I only used two of them behind the bunny.
STEP 8 - FORM THE ENVELOPE
To make the envelope, begin by folding along the score lines and burnish the folds with your scraper.
Add glue to the back of the inlay panel as well as around the cutout.Place the inlay panel over the cutout on the envelope making sure to center it well.
Bring the side flaps in and add glue to the edge of the flaps.
Bring the bottom flap up and press to form the envelope.
Your card and envelope are complete.
I hope you like this one. It is so cute!

My pleasure, Valerie!
I really enjoy the cards you create. So many of them are right for my family and friends! Thank you!!!
I really appreciate that, Linda. Thank you.
This is the best! Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Toooooo cute!
Thank you!
Scores come out on separate sheets when I try to cut. The first cut will show a plain piece of paper scored. Then when I try to cut and score the envelope it only cuts, even though I’ve checked and it seems you have already grouped these. Same thing with some of your other projects, Nick.
HELP!!
Hi, Judie,
Yes, I group the score line and cut together to make it easier for everyone to attach the individual pieces together.
You have to convert the score lines and then attach the group together.
Even though it is grouped, if you don’t highlight the two and attach, it will score on a separate piece of paper.
Let me know if you need more help.
Hi again, Nick. Judie Bayles….I just figured out I hadn’t ungrouped all the pieces. Envelope is scoring now. Thanks!
I’m glad! 😊
I had so much fun making this!!! I’m going to make another!
Thank you
Hi thank you for sharing the bunny butt card. Can you tell me the measurements of he card when finished? Can it be resized? I’d like to make it a little larder. Thank you. Linda
