Thanksgiving Paper Clocks
LEARN TO MAKE FUN AND FESTIVE TURKEY CLOCKS OUT OF PAPER USING YOUR CRICUT
Well, the Halloween decor has been put away and it's time to talk turkey! I am not big on Thanksgiving decor but, this year, I wanted to create something cute! So, I designed this adorable Thanksgiving paper clock to let everyone know that “It's Time to Gobble!”
In this tutorial, I’ll give you my step by step instructions and tell you what materials I think work best when making this project.
I created this file to be used with your Cricut cutting machine BUT you can also print out the PDF versions on your home printer. Note: If you decide to print off the design, you will need legal size cardstock!
Basic and Premium TBH Crafters Club Members can download the SVG cut file for this project in the File Library.

Instructions
STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD THE SVG CUT FILE
Download the SVG Cut file for the Turkey Clock (#44) from The File Vault. Get access by joining the club.
Note: Don't want the clock face? No problem! My file includes both a Clock version and a Decor version! Pick which version suits you best!
STEP 2 - UPLOAD THE SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
If you aren't familiar with uploading SVG files into Design Space, take a look at my quick and easy tutorial here. Using your smartphone? Click here for my step-by-step guide on uploading SVG files with the Cricut App.
STEP 3 - UNGROUP CARD LAYERS
The file will upload into Cricut Design Space grouped together. You will want to hit the UNGROUP button to separate the layers.
Nothing else is required! I have already set your score lines and draw lines for you! All you need to do is click the GREEN Make it Button!
STEP 4 - PREP YOUR MATS AND MAKE YOUR MATERIAL SELECTIONS
I am using Cricut Medium Cardstock for this project.
STEP 5 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING THE IMAGE
Once you have placed your cardstock onto your mat, load the cutting mat into the machine by pressing the flashing ARROW button.
You will know the machine is ready to cut your material when you see the flashing "C" button. Press that to start the cut.
Follow Design Space prompts to change out the scoring wheel, fine point cutting blade, and pen.
Once the cut is complete, make sure to peel the mat away from the cardstock rather than the cardstock from the mat. This will prevent any curling of your design.
Repeat Step 5 for until all layers have been cut.
STEP 6 - ASSEMBLE YOUR CLOCK
Once everything is cut, start assembling your clock by layering the turkey's feathers.
Apply adhesive to the backside of the red feather layer.
Secure the red feathers to the orange feathers.
Repeat this step for the brown feathers.
Next, fold the stand along the score lines.
Press with your scraper to ensure a crisp fold.
Fold the tabs of the bridge piece.
Add adhesive to the tops of the tabs.
Secure the bridge piece to the stand by pressing the tabs against the underside of the stand.
Make sure to create the bend in the bridge to line up with the curve on the stand.
Now, add adhesive to the tabs on the stand.
Press the tabs against the walls of the stand, forming the box.
Set aside.
Add the hat and facial features to your turkey.
Next, fold the tabs on the wrap. This is the piece that helps create the three dimensional body.
Use your scraper to press the fold lines.
Apply adhesive to the outsides of the tabs.
Add the wrap to the back piece (circle) of your turkey by lining up the edge of the tabs with the edge of the circle.
Once finished, add to the backside of your turkey face layer.
Flip the turkey over and press the tabs.
Add some hot glue to the bridge portion of the stand.
Carefully place your turkey into the hot glue. Make sure to line up the edges.
FInally, add adhesive to the bottom and center of the feathers, creating an upside down "T".
Stand your turkey up and center the feathers with the back of your turkey.
Give it a press with your hand.
STEP 7 - INSERT THE CLOCK FACE
Insert the battery into the back of your clock face.
Carefully insert the clock into the cavity on the turkey's front. I created four slits in the layer to help secure the clock once standing up. Be careful not to add too much pressure as this could crease the cardstock.
Your turkey clock is now complete!
I think this will be such a cute addition to your Thanksgiving decor!
