You all loved the simple treat boxes we made for Halloween this past year so I wanted to make a cute Valentine's Day version.

Now, by simple I am referring to how easy it is to assemble. The design is quite intricate so get your weeding tool handy!

In this tutorial, I’ll give you my step by step instructions and tell you what materials I think work best when making this project.

This file is part of Made with Love 2025.

You can purchase the individual cut file in my shop here.

Attach your cardstock to the Cricut StandardGrip Mat using the Cricut Brayer.

STEP 6 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING YOUR MATERIALS

To load the mat into the machine, press the double arrows button. Do make sure that the mat is positioned under the mat guides.

You will know the machine is ready to cut your material when you see the flashing "C" button. Press that to start the cut.

Follow Design Space prompts to change out the scoring wheel and fine point cutting blade.

Once the cut is complete, make sure to peel the mat away from the cardstock rather than the cardstock from the mat. This will prevent any curling of your design.

Repeat Step 6 for until all layers have been cut.

STEP 7 - ASSEMBLE YOUR TREAT BOX

Now that everything is cut, we can start to assemble the treat box.

First, rotate the box and fold the sides as mountain folds and burnish with your scraper.

Next, fold the top angled score lines as valley folds. Burnish with your scraper.

Then, fold the bottom score lines up as valley folds and the top score lines down as mountain folds. Burnish with your scraper.

Flip the box over and add the cover panels to all the cutouts.

Now, bring the two ends of the box together and feed the tab end into the other end.

Add glue to one side of the tab and fold down to attach.

glue the tab

Repeat for the other side of the tab so it stays flat against the side of the box.

Flip the box over and spread out the bottom flaps.

Fold in the flap that looks like legs.

Bring in the two side flaps.

Fold down the flap with the tab and feed into the opening.

To close the box, you can glue the tabs where they meet, add velcro, or even feed ribbon through the slits.

Make it your own and enjoy!
