Attach your cardstock to the Cricut StandardGrip Mat using the Cricut Brayer.

STEP 6 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING YOUR MATERIALS

To load the mat into the machine, press the double arrows button. Do make sure that the mat is positioned under the mat guides.

You will know the machine is ready to cut your material when you see the flashing "C" button. Press that to start the cut.

Follow Design Space prompts to change out the mats.

Once the cut is complete, make sure to peel the mat away from the cardstock rather than the cardstock from the mat. This will prevent any curling of your design.

Repeat Step 6 for until all layers have been cut.

STEP 7 - ASSEMBLE YOUR PROJECT

Now that everything is cut, we can start to assemble the treat box.

time to assemble

First, we need to assemble the box itself. Rotate the cardstock so the large tab is at the top. Fold the highlighted lines as mountain folds.

  1. I love this treat box. It is so versatile in that the base treat box could be used plain or with other decorative shapes for other occasions, eg hearts for valentines day. It looks like it is large enough to hold many different possibilities as a gift box & the decorative cuts are really versatile also. I can see using the clouds, stars & bats etc for cards or scrapbook pages. I am in the process of decorating a summer onesie (with a fire truck & the station number) for a one of my husbands fellow firefighters who recently had a baby boy & I am thinking the onesie may fit inside the gable box as a gift box, & if I slice some of the clouds from the sides of the box in Design Space, then add fire trucks on the outside, it can be used as a night light, with a battery operated tea light or strand of battery operated fairy lights. This inspiration from this project has come at just the right time. Thank you so much Nick.
