Easy Halloween Garland
LEARN HOW TO MAKE A SUPER EASY HALLOWEEN GARLAND TO ADD A FESTIVE TOUCH TO YOUR MANTEL USING YOUR CRICUT
October is now here and that means that fall decorating has shifted to HALLOWEEN! My Easy Fall Bunting tutorial was such a hit, not only with all of you but with my family, that I decided I wanted to make a Halloween Garland as well!
I changed up the shape of the pennants and added some Halloween embellishments. Instead of twine, I strung the garland with ribbon. Isn't it cute? I love the pop of orange and black!!
In this tutorial, I’ll give you my step by step instructions and tell you what materials I think work best when making this project.
This can be made with your cutting machine or even be printed off on your home printer!
Basic and Premium TBH Crafters Club Members can download the SVG cut file for this project in the File Library.

Instructions
STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD THE SVG CUT FILE
Download the SVG Cut file for the Halloween Garland (#35) from The File Vault. Get access by joining the club.
STEP 2 - UPLOAD THE SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
If you aren't familiar with uploading SVG files into Design Space, take a look at my quick and easy tutorial here. If you are on your smartphone, here is my tutorial on using the Cricut App.
STEP 3 - UNGROUP THE SVG FILE
Once your design is uploaded into Design Space, you can ungroup your file.
STEP 4 - CUSTOMIZE YOUR GARLAND
This step is a personal preference. You can remove or add as many pennants as you wish. To do so, highlight the flag.
DUPLICATE to create another copy or DELETE to remove it.
It is always a good idea to space out the pennants so you can see what your design will look like.
Click the GREEN Make It Button.
STEP 5 - PREPARE YOUR MATS AND MAKE MATERIAL SELECTION
I am using vinyl for my embellishments. Choose your materials as you see fit.
STEP 6 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING YOUR MATERIALS
Attach your cardstock to the Cricut StandardGrip Mat.
To load the mat into the machine, press the double arrows button. Do make sure that the mat is positioned under the mat guides.
Hit the "C" button once it begins to flash and you are on your way to cutting out your design!
Once the cut is complete, the double arrows will flash again. Press it and the mat will unload.
Repeat Step 6 until all layers are cut.
STEP 7 - ASSEMBLE YOUR GARLAND
Once you have your vinyl pieces weeded, if you are choosing vinyl as one of your materials, you can start to put it all together.
Begin assembly by placing transfer tape over one of the vinyl pieces.
Take a piece of transfer tape. Place over the vinyl decal, sticky side down.
Using your Cricut Scraper, rub the transfer tape to ensure good adhesion to the vinyl.
Slowly lift the transfer tape removing the backing sheet.
Center the decal onto one of your cardstock pieces then rub the transfer tape with your Cricut Scraper.
Slowly remove your transfer tape. You do want to go slowly to prevent any tearing of your cardstock.
Repeat these steps for each additional piece of your garland.
Now that your garland is ready to hang, you can string your ribbon.
Feed it through the holes made in the cardstock. I prefer the ribbon to show in the front but that is totally up to you!
Continue until your ribbon is through all pieces of the cardstock.
STEP 8 - HANG YOUR GARLAND
To hang your garland on the mantel, I use Command Clear Mini Light Clips.
Following the manufacturer's instructions, place your clip on the mantel ledge where desired.
Bring your ribbon around the clip and tie in a knot.
Repeat for the other side and cut off the excess ribbon from the roll.
Your garland is ready to enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this project! It really adds some Halloween flair to your room!
