Instructions
STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD THE SVG CUT FILE
Download the SVG Cut file for the Fall Bunting (#31) from The File Vault. Get access by joining the club.
STEP 2 - UPLOAD THE SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
If you aren't familiar with uploading SVG files into Design Space, take a look at my quick and easy tutorial here. If you are on your smartphone, here is my tutorial on using the Cricut App.
STEP 3 - UNGROUP THE SVG FILE
Once your design is uploaded into Design Space, you can ungroup your file.
This is totally optional as the bunting will be imported to the correct dimensions. Also, because I am using vinyl for the letters and pumpkins, there is no need to do any more prep work.
Click the GREEN Make It Button.
STEP 4 - PREPARE YOUR MATS AND MAKE MATERIAL SELECTION
As mentioned above, I am using vinyl for my text and pumpkins. Choose your materials as you see fit.
STEP 5 - LOADING YOUR MATS AND CUTTING YOUR MATERIALS
Attach your cardstock to the Cricut StandardGrip Mat.
To load the mat into the machine, press the double arrows button. Do make sure that the mat is positioned under the mat guides.
Hit the "C" button once it begins to flash and you are on your way to cutting out your design!
Once the cut is complete, the double arrows will flash again. Press it and the mat will unload.
Repeat Step 5 until all layers are cut.
STEP 6 - ASSEMBLE YOUR BUNTING
Begin assembly by placing transfer tape over one of the vinyl pieces.
Take a piece of transfer tape.
Place over the vinyl decal, sticky side down. Using your Cricut Scraper, rub the transfer tape to ensure good adhesion to the vinyl.
Slowly lift the transfer tape removing the backing sheet from the decal.
Center the decal onto one of your cardstock pieces then rub the transfer tape with your Cricut Scraper.
Slowly remove your transfer tape. You do want to go slowly to prevent any tearing of your cardstock.
Repeat these steps for each additional piece of your bunting.
Now that your bunting is ready to hang, you can string your twine from right to left.
Feed the twine through the right hole made in the cardstock.
Then the left.
Give the twine a slight tug to help straighten it out a bit.
Continue feeding the twine through the rest of the bunting.
I would not recommend cutting the twine until you are ready to hang it. This way, you can play with how big of a swag you want for the finished look.
STEP 7 - HANG YOUR BUNTING
To hang your bunting on the mantel, I use Command Clear Mini Light Clips.
Following the manufacturer's instructions, place your clip on the mantel ledge where desired.
Bring your twine around the clip and tie in a knot.
Repeat for the other side and cut off the excess twine from the roll.
Your bunting is ready to enjoy!
Not only do I love how this looks but how easy it was! The whole project from Design Space to done was around 35 minutes!
I hope you enjoy this design and use it in your fall decor! You can also use the basic bunting shape for any event or holiday!! Add a clever saying for birthdays, open houses, etc! It is so versatile!
