STEP 7 - ASSEMBLE YOUR POINSETTIA

Now that everything has been cut out, it is time to assemble!

now that your project is cut out, begin assembly

First, draw a line along the edge of the poinsettia petals using the gold paint pen. This is completely optional but I think it adds some pretty shimmer to the flower.

draw a line along the edge of your poinsettia leaves using the gold paint pen

Repeat this step for all of your petals.

Second, roll up the center piece of your flower tightly.

roll the center of the flower up in a tight coil

Use hot glue to secure the center as you roll it up.

apply some hot glue along the way

Once it is glued together, fluff out the center for a more natural look.

fluff out the center once dry

Third, begin forming your petals. To do this, add a bit of hot glue to the lower left side of your petal.

to form your petals, add some hot glue to the bottom left of the petal

Bring the right side over and press it into place on top of the left side. This will form your 3D flower petal.

bring the right side of the flower over and secure on top of the left side. repeat for all petals

Set aside to dry and repeat for all remaining petals.

Next, begin adding your petals to the pentagon shaped base, starting with the largest flower petals. Each petal should be placed on one of the five sides.

begin layering the poinsettia petals by adding hot glue to the back of one of the larger petals and placing on one side of the pentagon base.

Continue placing the petals around the base making sure to tuck the new petal under the previous one.

continue placing petals around the pentagon tucking the new petal under the previous one

For the second layer of petals, use the medium sized petals and place in the same fashion but staggered with the previous layer.

for the second row of petals, stagger the petals

Do the same for the third layer, and smallest, of petals.

do the same for the third row

Now, I didn't think one center piece was enough for this flower. If you do, that is completely your choice but I wanted something a bit more substantial. So, I added some hot glue to the center piece I already rolled up earlier.

if desired, use the second yellow piece to make the center more substantial

Then rolled the second center piece onto the first.

add hot glue and roll the second yellow piece to the already formed center

Add some hot glue to the bottom of the center.

add hot glue the the bottom of the flower center

Then place in the center of the poinsettia petals and fluff until you achieve your desired look.

place in the middle of the poinsettia and fluff

Finally, add your leaves to the back of your flower. To do this, add some hot glue to the bottom of a leaf.

add hot glue to the bottom edge of the leaves

Place behind the flower and press with your hand to secure.

place behind the poinsettia flower and press into place with your hands

Do this for the remaining leaves as you wish. You can even duplicate more if you want!

Your poinsettia is finsihed and ready to display!

enjoy your flower

I know you are going to love this beautiful paper flower. It would be perfect on the wall wherever you need that burst of Holiday sparkle, add a ribbon to the back and hang it on your front door or even place as a centerpiece on your Christmas table!

  1. Good Sunday morning!! I absolutely love your cricut projects. Best I’ve seen so far. I am making the Christmas 3D box card for my kids family. Soooo cute!!! I would like to ask, do you by any chance have or in the process of making a MindCraft pop up card?? My grandson and granddaughter really like this now. Let me know if so. Again, thank you for the wonderful projects you so generously share . God bless
