LEARN HOW TO MAKE DELICIOUS VANILLA BUTTERCREAM THAT PIPES LIKE A DREAM!
I love frosting! Who doesn't, really? To me, cake is just the vehicle for the frosting! One of my favorites is vanilla buttercream. It is classic, delicious, and full of flavor!
I am going to give you my yummy vanilla buttercream recipe so you can whip this up in a flash whenever you need to! It pipes and holds it shape beautifully!
When I had my cupcake bakery several years ago (if you want to know more about that, let me know!), this was my staple when it came to buttercream.
We even sold frosting shots of it! They sold like hotcakes cupcakes!

Pipeable Vanilla Buttercream
This yummy vanilla buttercream was a staple at my bakery and will be in your kitchen! It is easy to make, pipes like a dream, and tastes so yummy!
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. I recommend pure vanilla extract!
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 7 cups of confectioners sugar
- 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream or milk
Instructions
STEP 1 - GATHER YOUR INGREDIENTS
Get your ingredients ready and your mixer set up. I prefer a stand mixer but you can certainly use a hand mixer!
STEP 2 - CREAM BUTTER, VANILLA, AND SALT
Add ingredients to the bowl and whip until creamy. I start on low to make sure everything is incorporated and then turn the speed up to medium.
STEP 3 - ADD CONFECTIONERS SUGAR
You can add the full amount at once or a few cups at a time. It is up to you!
STEP 4 - ADD HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM OR MILK
Once the sugar has combined with the butter mixture, add your liquid.
Whip on low speed. You don't want a sugar disaster everywhere!
STEP 5 - WHIP ON HIGH SPEED
Once your sugar has incorporated, your frosting will start to pull away from the bowl and look like this:
Set the mixer to high and whip for at least 7-10 minutes.
STEP 6 - ADD TO PIPING BAG OR TOP YOUR CAKES!
Your frosting is now done and ready to decorate your delicious baked goods!
I am sure this one will please everyone!!
